About the CQSA

The Consultant Quantity Surveyor's Association (CQSA) counts among its members the senior owners of quantity surveying consultancy businesses ranging from sole practitioners to most of the larger QS organisations. This provides a unique power base from which to express the views of the practising QS and to create
'a voice of influence'.

Goals, Aims and Objectives

The Association has close ties with, and works in harmony with, the Quantity Surveying and Construction Faculty of the RICS; this is acheived through a mutual recognition, by both organisations, of the differing objectives of the
'learned society' ( the RICS) and the 'trade association' (the CQSA).

Both the CQSA and the RICS share a largely mutual membership and cooperate in a number of professional interest areas. In particular, the CQSA promotes the business interests of the profession through participation in the RICS Quantity Surveying and Construction Faculty's "Professional Quantity Surveyor Group".

In addition to working with the RICS, the Association also contributes to industry debate and initiative in a variety of areas including:

- education and training;
- industry practice and market performance;
- the development and quality of project management; and
- a key focus on continuous improvement.

Summary

The Association is ambitious to grow in stature and influence. To achieve this, the Association needs to further expand its membership to provide both a greater pool of informed resource on which it can call and to further enhance the credibility of its position as the voice of private practice quantity surveying consultancy.
